The outpatient cardiac rehabilitation programs ensure that those who have had a recent cardiac event or diagnosis are assisted in their recovery and develop new levels of fitness and health. All of the programs are headquartered in the Minto Prevention and Rehabilitation Centre on the 2nd floor of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

Outpatient Physiotherapy services include activity assessment, provision of an individualized exercise prescription and exercise guidelines, leadership in exercise classes and education for long-term lifestyle behaviour change.  The Cardiac Rehabilitation program assists participants in acquiring the skills needed to achieve and maintain a heart-healthy lifestyle and getting back to everyday life after a cardiac event.

The Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is for those individuals who have diagnosed heart disease or have had a cardiac event and are able to participate in managing their chronic condition. There is no cost to patients with heart disease participating in Cardiac Rehabilitation programs. A physician referral form is required and may be faxed or mailed to:
