The Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre Outpatient Physiotherapy (505 Smyth Road)
Rehabilitation Centre physiotherapists specialize in the management of acute and chronic conditions. Staff have over 30 years of expertise as community leaders and educators in rehabilitation services. The care team is comprised of Physiotherapists and Physiotherapist Assistants.
For adult patients with active rehabilitation goals, our specialized services include:
- Pain management
- Complex traumatic injury rehabilitation, including burns
- Chronic Respiratory Disease management program
- Rehabilitation post- acquired or traumatic brain injury
- Neurological rehabilitation
- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) clinic
What is not covered by our OHIP-funded program:
- non-complex acute injuries (<6 weeks since injury)
- maintenance programs
- post-surgical total joint replacement therapy
- elective surgery rehabilitation therapy
How do I get a referral?
All referrals to publicly-funded outpatient physiotherapy must be provided by a physiatrist (doctor who specializes in rehabilitation medicine) or nurse practitioner with admitting privileges at TOHRC.
