As a symbol of life, this garden honours organ and tissue donors and their families whose generosity brings hope to transplant recipients.

In the Memorial Garden, dedicated on June 17, 2003, organ and tissue donors and their families can be remembered.

Marianne Buiting-Hurst and Joan Bennett, two Intensive Care Unit nurses, planted a selection of wonderful plants and flowers in memory of their patients and families who, through their compassion for others, graciously saved and enhanced the lives of others.

The garden was funded with proceeds raised during the MDS/Nordion Race by the family and friends of Paul James Kennedy, an organ and tissue donor. TOH Auxiliary’s team of volunteers will maintain the garden that is located on the front lawn of the Civic Campus.
