The Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre (TOHRC) specializes in the physical rehabilitation of people who have experienced a disabling physical illness or injury. TOHRC offers a variety of patient-focused treatment programs and services to help patients achieve their goals, maximize their functionality and rebuild their lives through our clinics and dedicated staff.
The TOHRC’s interdisciplinary programs and services are divided into “care streams” to help patients throughout their rehabilitation journey. These streams include:
- Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Service
- Locomotor Care (including amputees, respiratory conditions, chronic pain and complex orthopaedic conditions)
- Neuromuscular Care (including ALS, MS, Cerebral Palsy and spinal cord injuries)
- Specialty Services (including prosthetics and orthotics, total foot care, driving rehabilitation and the Augmentative Communication and Writing Service)
The TOHRC’s goal-oriented programs, many offering both in- and outpatient options, address the cognitive, behavioural, psychosocial and physical needs of our patients. We strive to provide both patients and their families with the information, skills and experience needed to return and prosper in their day-to-day, community-based living.
