Dr. Todd Fairhead is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at The Ottawa Hospital and the University of Ottawa. He received his M.D. at Queen’s University in 2000 and completed postgraduate training in internal medicine and nephrology at the University of Alberta in 2005. Subsequently, he completed a three year fellowship in transplant immunobiology at the University of Western Ontario.

He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in nephrology. Dr. Fairhead joined the Division of Nephrology in 2008.

His clinical responsibilities include the evaluation and care of kidney transplant recipients and treatment of patients with glomerulonephritis.

Research Interests:

  • Fairhead’s major research interest is the immunology of renal disease including autoimmune, alloimmune, and inflammatory injuries to the kidney. He is involved in clinical outcomes research and clinical trials in transplantation and glomerulonephritis.

Educational Interests:

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in nephrology.
