Honorata Bittner is the Chief Strategy Officer at The Ottawa Hospital. In this role she is responsible for providing strategic advice and counsel to the President & CEO and to support and facilitate cross departmental relationships to address high profile projects and issues. Through her collaborative leadership style, she fosters relationships to achieve corporate strategic objectives at the hospital and within the community. She is known for her ability to assess and simplify complex issues and create action plans that lead to success.

After graduating from the John Molson School of Business, at Concordia University, Honorata began a career in healthcare working with Ontario’s Physician Services Committee secretariat (PSC) in Toronto. In her role as a member of the secretariat she assisted in implementing the PSC strategic directions and the physician master agreement that guides the delivery of physician services in Ontario. In 2005, Honorata continued her career in healthcare planning at The Ottawa Hospital where she worked with the Vice-President Medical Affairs in preparing the pandemic response plan for the hospital, a plan that would be implemented a few years later during the H1N1 influenza pandemic. In 2006, Honorata moved to the office of the President & CEO as an executive assistant and was soon promoted to Director of Executive Offices and more recently as Director of Strategic Initiatives and Integration for the hospital. In 2019, Honorata was appointed to represent The Ottawa Hospital at the convening partners leadership table of the newly approved Ottawa Ontario Health Team. In 2020, Honorata was appointed Chief Strategy Officer and since September has also been the interim executive responsible for external communications, at a time where the hospital faced unprecedented pressure in its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Honorata immigrated to Canada from Poland with her parents in the early 80’s. She was raised in Montreal but has called Ottawa home for the past 15 years. She is fluent in both official languages as well as Polish and has begun learning Italian. She has a passion for learning new skills and keeps her curiosity about worldwide events satisfied through podcasts and her love of reading. She is the proud mom to Miko and Gaja and takes great pleasure in taking them to explore the beauty of the Canadian outdoors through her passion for hiking and canoe camping.
