Included in these is The Ottawa Hospital Attestation signed by the CEO and Board Chair, prepared in accordance with section 15 of the Broader Public Sector Accountability Act, 2010 (BPSAA). TOH is in compliance with all the directives under this act.
Travel, Meal & Hospitality Expenses
Travel, Meal & Hospitality Expense Policy – The purpose of this policy is to set out the requirement for The Ottawa Hospital to establish expense rules where expenses are reimbursed from public funds. The expense rules apply to employees of The Ottawa Hospital (TOH), Board of Governors, medical staff and consultants and contractors engaged to work for the hospital. Expense reimbursements will be provided for authorized business travel and other expenses incurred as a result of performing duties for the hospital.
Business travel and other expenses should not exceed the amount allocated in department budgets, and should always be the most economical choice. This policy covers all disbursements made by or for The Ottawa Hospital as defined below.
The Ottawa Hospital has entered into an agreement with e-Health Ontario to help establish a region-wide governance and collaborative delivery model, known as the Connecting Northern and Eastern Ontario (cNEO) program. Expense reimbursements will be provided for authorized business travel and other expenses incurred as a result of performing duties related to the cNEO program. Business travel and other expenses should not exceed the amount allocated in the program budget, and should always be the most economical choice and in accordance with the Broad Public Sector Accountability Act and directives relating to expense claims. The policy covers all disbursements made directly by The Ottawa Hospital with respect to the cNEO program as defined below.
