Patients can help staff provide the best care by:

  • using tools such as the care board in your hospital room and this Patient and Family Care Guide
  • taking an active role in your care plan
  • noting all medications and doses you take and are prescribed
  • asking your patient care team questions and voicing any concerns you may have
  • committing to our non-violence policy toward hospital staff

Hospital mealtimes for admitted patients

Your meals are planned using Canada’s Food Guide. If your doctor has you on a special diet, your meals will follow that diet. If you have food allergies or special food preferences, please tell a member of your Circle of Care.

Mealtimes:

Breakfast 8:00 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Lunch 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Dinner 4:45 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Some patient wards have small kitchens with a few drink and snack choices. Please remember, these are for our patients only.
