Overview
More than 30 psychologists and three psychometrists are part of the team that helps patients manage both physical and emotional recovery.
Psychology Services at The Ottawa Hospital help patients who are living with short-term or long-term illnesses, physical trauma, emotional challenges or mental illness. Psychology services are available to both inpatients and outpatients.
Psychologists work closely with other members of the care teams to support patients’ overall health through assessment, diagnosis, treatment and consultations.
In addition to direct patient care, psychologists also help improve hospital programs, take part in research, and support training for future psychologists.

Education and training
All psychologists hold doctoral degrees, are licensed by the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario and are authorized to practice in a number of competency areas including clinical neuropsychology, clinical psychology, rehabilitation psychology and/or health psychology.
Internship
The Department of Psychology at The Ottawa Hospital offers the Pre-Doctoral Internship in Clinical Psychology.
