The Ottawa Hospital will be completely smoke-free in 2018

June 9, 2017 – Beginning in January 2018, The Ottawa Hospital will no longer allow smoking anywhere on its three campuses.

The Ottawa Hospital is committed to building healthier communities and to fostering a healthy, safe workplace. Providing smoke-free spaces for our patients, visitors, and staff will support our efforts to achieve these goals.

An amendment to the Smoke-Free Ontario Act requires all hospitals and long-term care homes property across the province to be completely smoke-free by January 2018.

Until January 2018, the hospital will still have designated smoking areas. You can see where they are on the map available here.
