September 18, 2013 — Throughout the day, The Ottawa Hospital received 11 injured patients from the collision this morning between the Via Rail train and the OC Transpo bus. Injuries ranged from critical to minor. The hospital will continue to assess and treat any other patients who arrive.

Following an initial period of emergency response, The Ottawa Hospital has now returned to normal operations.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who were affected by this horrible tragedy,” said Dr. Jim Worthington, TOH’s Senior Vice-President of Medical Affairs, Quality and Performance.  “Our Emergency Departments will continue to assess and treat all patients as they arrive.”
