Ackroo and The Ottawa Hospital Partner to Launch The Ottawa Hospital Employee Care Program

Employee Care Card

Employee Care Program connects 15,000 hospital employees with local businesses in Ottawa

June 10, 2013 – Ackroo Inc. (TSX-V: AKR), a loyalty and rewards technology and services provider, announced it has partnered with The Ottawa Hospital to launch The Ottawa Hospital Employee Care Program, an exclusive loyalty and rewards program for hospital employees and volunteers that supports the local business community and creates new revenue for The Ottawa Hospital The Ottawa Hospital. The program launches today during The Ottawa Hospital’s Staff Appreciation Week.

Employees of The Ottawa Hospital will be issued an Employee Care Card that can be used at participating businesses in the Ottawa area. For every dollar an Ottawa Hospital employee spends (at a participating business) they earn a percentage of their purchase back in loyalty dollars that can be used towards future purchases at that business. Participating businesses contribute a percentage of Ottawa Hospital employee purchases back to The Ottawa Hospital. Funds from the Employee Care Program will be used to purchase medical equipment.

“A portion of The Ottawa Hospital’s world-class care and services are a direct result of contributions from individuals and businesses in the Ottawa area,” said Paul Richards, director of finance at The Ottawa Hospital. “We chose to partner with Ackroo because of their unique beneficiary program that provides a turn-key loyalty program for employees while creating new revenue for The Ottawa Hospital.”

“The launch of The Ottawa Hospital Employee Care Program is a milestone for the Ackroo beneficiary loyalty program which allows groups of consumers to connect with local businesses while supporting a common cause,” commented Eamonn Garry, chief executive officer at Ackroo. “The benefits of this type of loyalty program are far-reaching into the community; it rewards the dedicated employees of The Ottawa Hospital and supports and promotes local businesses, giving them the opportunity to reach new audiences and drive new customers into their stores. In turn, these businesses contribute a portion of that new revenue back to The Ottawa Hospital. Ackroo looks forward to working with The Ottawa Hospital on this initiative and to rolling out similar beneficiary loyalty programs across Canada.”
