Ride the Rideau debuts 50 km distance

Eastern Ontario’s most successful cancer fundraiser is back!

Participants in Ride the Rideau, fuelled by Nordion have cycled 100 km from Ottawa to Merrickville and raised over $4.4 million over three years in support of cancer research at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.

On September 7, Ride the Rideau celebrates its fourth year, and The Ottawa Hospital Foundation wants to make an even bigger impact. We’ve added a 50 km Ottawa-to-Richmond option to the ride, which means that there are No Excuses not to support cancer research at The Ottawa Hospital.

Of course, our 50 km riders and 100 km riders get the same star treatment – a limited-edition jersey and collectible medal, a great party at the finish line in Merrickville, our gratitude, and the feeling that you’ve done something great.

If you’ve thought about Ride the Rideau in the past, but balked the idea of riding 100 km, this is your chance to experience the ride of a lifetime. No more excuses – register today.

We’re also looking for volunteers. Whether you’re on tap to serve our Heroes’ breakfast, work as a valuable member of our route crew or welcome riders at the 50 km or 100 km finish lines, you can make a difference in cancer care right here in our community.Register to volunteer today.
