Definitions
Number of Beds: Number of inpatient beds staffed and in operation. Beds closed or blocked for reasons such as infection control measures and staffing are not counted.
Occupancy %: Number of admitted patients per 100 beds available.
Number of ALC Patients: Number of admitted patients needing an Alternative Level of Care.
Please note that the TOH activity at the West End Villa (WEV) is excluded from the beds and occupancy measures. This is consistent with reporting to the Ministry of Health (MOH) as these are not readily available for acute inpatient care. However, ALC patients at WEV are included under the Civic campus ALC patient count.
