August 16, 2011 – The Ottawa Hospital Sexual Assault and Partner Abuse Care Program (SAPACP) provides seamless coverage to the City of Ottawa 24hrs/day, 7days/week. Since the summer 2010, the program has been restructured and is led by our Medical Director, Dr Kari Sampsel. Our Nursing team members have received specialized training and are certified as “Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners”.
We have exceeded our target to see 90% of our clients within 1 hour of the nurse being called. We continue to work collaboratively with our external partners to improve the care of our clientele. Our Medical Director and Advanced Practice Nurse have been appointed to represent the Champlain LHIN and work with ECHO, the Ontario’s Women Health organization and other LHINs to implement service delivery standards.
