Caring for our Staff

The Ottawa Hospital is committed to caring for its health-care professionals, support staff, students and volunteers. We are dedicated to ensuring a safe working environment for our employees to better serve our patients and our community.

Programs & Services

Attending Practitioner’s Statement Report (APSR) is the medical documentation that an employee is required to have completed by their treating health-care provider to document the need for a medical absence.

Safety Groups Program Certificate

The Safety Groups Program is a Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) incentive program to recognize organizations that integrate injury prevention into their management systems. Since 2003, The Ottawa Hospital has participated annually in a Safety Group sponsored by the Ontario Hospital Association. Successful completion of the program consists of creating and implementing an action plan for selected health and safety program elements, including a Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) audit, while attending sponsor networking and workshop meetings with other health-care organizations in our Safety Group throughout the annual program cycle.
