For the safety of our patients and staff, every department and unit at The Ottawa Hospital (including the EMU) has made changes to normal hospital operations. At this time, EMU admissions are taking place, but if you would like to reschedule your admission, please contact the EMU at 613-798-5555 Ext. 13873 .

Please note that we will do our best to keep our scheduled admissions. However, due to the dynamic nature of the pandemic situation, please be aware that your admission may be cancelled or your stay on the EMU will be shortened with little notice if we are required to do so.

Several other safety precautions are in place at the EMU:

Monitoring vital signs

Registered nurses will check your temperature every shift. If you feel unwell, please tell (RN). A COVID-19 test can be ordered in hospital. You maybe discharged and asked to self-isolate until the testing results are ready..

Rounds 

Rounds will be at your bedside. Only the epileptologist and the EMU RN will be present.

Visitors

No visitors are allowed at any time during your admission at the EMU.

Outings

Unfortunately trips outside the EMU during admission are not allowed.
