Overview
In respirology clinics, patients who have breathing problems are evaluated. Respirology clinics are closely linked with diagnostic services such as the pulmonary function lab and x-ray, as well as endoscopy’s bronchoscopy suite, to provide patients with a diagnosis. Once diagnosed, the physician can proceed to have the patient treated appropriately.
There is a respiratory therapist available to the clinic for respiratory testing and treatment. Patient education is provided for patients who may have obstructive, allergic or other respiratory-related disorders.
There are respirology clinics at the General, Civic and Riverside Campuses. Physician referrals are required for all clinic visits and respiratory testing. All three campuses provide pulmonary function testing, as well as evaluation for supplemental oxygen, independent of the clinics.
