Cardiology Clinics

The Ottawa Hospital has Cardiology Clinics organized daily to provide care to patients with heart disease. These clinics are situated at both the General (2nd floor, Module R).  Patients are seen by a cardiologist according to the urgency of the situation. These clinics are closely linked to appropriate non-invasive diagnostic services such as echocardiography and stress testing.

The Cardiology-Oncology Referral Clinic is a specialized clinic that is dedicated to providing a comprehensive approach to the management of cancer patients with cardiac diseases or cardiac complications from cancer treatment. This clinic is by referral only from physicians associated with the Cancer Centre.

The Cardio-Obstetrics Clinic is a specialized cardiology clinic dedicated to the evaluation and care of women with established heart disease pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy / delivery, and post-partum. We also provide care to pregnant women who develop symptoms of heart disease or women who have had previous cardiac complications of pregnancy. We are closely linked to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Women’s Heart Health Centre, UOHI CardioPrevent Post-Partum Rehabilitation Program, and the UOHI Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic. Cardiac care is provided in collaboration with obstetricians, maternal fetal medicine physicians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, internal medicine specialists, endocrinologists, medical geneticists and cardiac rehabilitation. We accept and quickly triage referrals for pregnant or pre-pregnancy patients according to urgency of symptoms, diagnosis, and expected date of delivery. Consultations in this clinic require referral by a physician or nurse practitioner.

Please complete the referral form and fax to 613-739-6727 or email

The Pacemaker Clinic is a specialized clinic that provides follow-up care for patients who have undergone insertion of a permanent pacemaker.  Patients who are not followed in this clinic will require a physician referral.  Please include relevant information such as date of pacemaker implant, type of pacemaker implanted, and initial indication for pacemaker.
