November 15, 2013
What: |
Sunday, November 17 is World Prematurity Day. The day serves as a platform for families across Canada and the world to raise awareness about premature birth and some of its long-term health consequences for children and their families. One in 10 babies are born preterm in Canada. The Ottawa Hospital and the Canadian Premature Babies Foundation invite you to join them on November 17 to celebrate World Prematurity Day. During this event, kids will have the opportunity to participate in fun activities and crafts and will also have the chance to meet Santa Claus. Parents can come and meet some of the dedicated staff members of The Ottawa Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Special Care Nursery (SCN) and learn more about premature births. They will also have an opportunity to take a closer look at the equipment used in the unit. |
