Every year, tens of thousands of runners participate in Tamarack Homes Ottawa Race Weekend. Of those, hundreds choose to give their run or walk more meaning by fundraising in support of The Ottawa Hospital through Run for a Reason.
The Ottawa Hospital Foundation’s Run for a Reason allows individuals, families, community groups, corporations, schools, and Hospital staff, to fundraise for areas of our Hospital that mean something special to them.
Community teams include Partners Investing in Parkinson’s Research, the Pancreatic Cancer Purple Team, and Run for Research, while Medisys is just one of our corporate teams. We also have hundreds of students and their teachers fundraising for us this year, and Turnbull School is among our wonderful school teams.
Our Hospital staff teams go beyond the call of duty by signing up to fundraise for their departments, or ones that have meaning for them. This year’s teams include The Ottawa Hospital Breast Health Centre, Baby Strides and the Ottawa Stroke Research Group, to name a few.
Whether fundraisers choose to support clinical trials, cancer research, or Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit there’s a story behind every run. And they’re making an impact – last year, participants raised more than an incredible $600,000 in support of The Ottawa Hospital. Since 1998, Run for a Reason has raised $8.3 million for TOH.
There’s still time to sponsor one of the incredible teams or individuals who is fundraising, and on race weekend, come and cheer on the runners who are helping to build a Better Hospital. https://ohfoundation.ca/our-events/run-reason
