When Dr. William Stanford first became a biological scientist, he simply followed his curiosity and was happy to let others pursue any practical applications of his research. Today goes on bedside rounds with clinicians, meets with patients and dreams of launching clinical trials.

When Brenda Ringlet passed away suddenly in 2016, her family was in shock, but found great comfort in knowing she helped save many lives through organ donation. Trillium Gift of Life Network recognized The Ottawa Hospital with two awards for its efforts in ensuring that patient wishes are granted.

In recognition of his efforts to improve life-saving skills and services, Dr. Justin Maloney received the Governor General’s Meritorious Service Cross in a ceremony at Rideau Hall on Dec. 12.
