Coming Soon: Pay your hospital bills in MyChart

You will soon be able to pay your hospital bills directly through MyChart — no need to call or visit the Finance Department. You can make payments easily by logging into your MyChart account or using the new “Pay as Guest” option. Managing your bills will be easier than ever.

Why pay your bill through MyChart?

Secure: Your payment information is protected with advanced encryption and tokenization. This means your credit card details are never stored in MyChart or at The Ottawa Hospital. Instead, a secure token is used to process your payment, keeping your information safe.
Convenient: Check your balance, view your payment history and download receipts for insurance or tax purposes — all in one place, anytime.
Flexible: Choose how and when you pay, with options that suit your needs.

Pay my bill online

For your protection, The Ottawa Hospital does not accept or process credit card payments sent via email or text message.

In some situations, you may need to pay for health-care services you receive at The Ottawa Hospital. If and how much you pay depends on the health-care coverage you have. Learn more

To pay via online banking:

Using your online banking account or banking app, add “The Ottawa Hospital” as a new bill payee.
Enter your eight-digit Medical Record Number (MRN) as the account number. Your MRN is on the top right of your hospital bill.

To pay by e-transfer:

Type aretransfer@toh.ca as the recipient.
Enter your eight-digit MRN in the comment section. Do not set a password.

To pay by credit card over the phone:

We recommend that you save a screenshot or print copies of every transaction.
