Nursing Research
The Ottawa Hospital supports nursing research and nursing-related activities for all nurses
Nursing research at The Ottawa Hospital includes the generation, dissemination and utilization of new knowledge that promotes excellence in professional nursing practice. Opportunities to learn more about research and share experiences are available to frontline nurses who are interested in learning more about conducting research including:
- Close collaboration with local universities and colleges
- Funding support
- Mentorship
At all levels of management, there is a strong commitment to enhancing our nursing research culture. New approaches to funding nursing research and supporting novice nurse researchers are currently under way. Our main goal is to support front-line nurses to develop and conduct research projects that answer clinical practice and nursing care delivery questions.
Research Funding and Grant Opportunities
At The Ottawa Hospital there are funding resources available to support nursing research. Applications for funding are available from Nursing Professional Practice. Submissions are peer-reviewed and funding decisions are finalized by an ad hoc nursing research working group.
