Ottawa, ON – October 15, 2025 – The Ottawa Hospital (TOH), in partnership with CBI Home Health, has launched Hospital at Home, Ontario’s first program to deliver acute hospital-level care directly to patients in their homes.

Designed for patients who can safely receive care outside of a traditional hospital setting, Hospital at Home helps ease pressure on hospital resources while ensuring timely, high-quality treatment. Care is delivered by a team of physicians, nurses and community partners and supported by remote monitoring and virtual tools.

“Hospital at Home is an example of how we’re reimagining care to meet people where they are,” said Carol Mann, Medical Director of Inpatient Care at The Ottawa Hospital. “By bringing care into the home, we’re improving access and comfort for patients, while helping them recover in familiar surroundings, close to loved ones. This model supports better outcomes, reduces strain on hospital capacity and strengthens our ability to deliver compassionate, community-based care.”

Hospital at Home reflects TOH’s mission to expand access, increase capacity and deliver safe, patient-centred care. By bringing hospital-level treatment into the home, the program responds to system pressures such as high Emergency Department volumes and prolonged wait times. It also enhances patient and caregiver experiences, improves outcomes and makes the best use of health-care resources.
