Salary Range

$106,628.15 to 123,641.70/year

What you will do

The Clinical Flow Leader is a Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Manager, Command Centre and Patient Flow, is responsible for coordinating and facilitating activities related to admission, transfer and discharge of patients to enhance patient placement and flow throughout the hospital. The incumbent acts as a liaison between all clinical departments and develops pro-active strategies to address patient flow issues utilizing a fair, collaborative approach and ensuring compliance and commitment of all parties involved.

The Clinical Flow Leaders are integral members of our dynamic patient flow tea promoting optimal patient outcomes by assessing and facilitating the effective management of care, utilization or resources and length of stay.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing Degree;
  • Certification with the College of Nurses and current member of CNO and RNAO;
  • Minimum three (3)  years of experience as a nurse in a similar and complex health care organization;
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a leadership or management capacity;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and execute independently, maintain excellent rapport with team members and stakeholders.
  • Communicates effectively with people at all levels;
  • Strong leadership skills to support and provide directions to staff in various departments in stressful and rapidly changing situations;
  • Demonstrated leadership and facilitator/coaching skills;
  • Ability to organize self in managing competing priorities and balancing multiple, often disparate tasks;
  • Demonstrated agility in decision making;
  • Ability to think critically in order to respond to a rapidly changing environment;
  • Superior clinical/assessment skills to make sound decisions regarding bed assignments;
  • Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal relations, problem solving, and conflict resolution;
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient service and satisfaction;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel, SharePoint;
  • Experience in working with electronic documentation, preferably, EPIC;
  • Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures, relative legislation, Canadian Hospital Accreditation Standards and Professional Discipline Standards of Ontario related to admission and discharge of patients, cancellation of patients, full capacity protocol, patient transfer back policy and Disaster and Emergency preparedness.
