Tips & Tricks to Spot Job Scams

To help know the difference between legitimate recruitment efforts and potentially fraudulent ones, please note the following tips and tricks:

• Unrealistic promises: Job postings or other communication that claim to guarantee you a job or certain level of income.

• Lack of employer transparency: Legitimate employers provide clear company names, contact information, and verifiable websites.
  
• Requests for payment: No genuine employer will ask applicants to pay an upfront fee for or during the recruitment process.

• Poor communication: Emails with grammatical errors, vague job descriptions, or unprofessional tone can signal an employment scam.

• Pressure tactics: Scammers often push applicants to act quickly, discouraging them from researching the company.

• Suspicious application process: Be cautious if asked to provide sensitive personal information (like banking details or personal identification) before an official offer is made.

• Fake logo/branding: Check and compare the quality of the company logos posted on legitimate and authorized company websites prior to submitting job application.
