Respirology Clinics

Overview

Respirology clinics at The Ottawa Hospital help patients by evaluating their breathing problems.

They work closely with diagnostic services such as the pulmonary function lab and x-ray, as well as endoscopy’s bronchoscopy suite, to provide patients with a diagnosis. Once diagnosed, the physician can proceed with the treatment.

A respiratory therapist is available to support testing and treatment, and patients receive education about conditions like asthma, COPD and other lung-related issues.

Clinics are located at the General, Civic and Riverside campuses. All three campuses provide pulmonary function testing, as well as evaluation for supplemental oxygen, independent of the clinics.

A healthcare professional wearing blue scrubs and gloves operates an ultrasound machine, with a patient lying on an examination table in the background.

Referrals

All patients need to be referred to the respirology clinics by a physician.
