Neurosciences Clinic

Overview

The Neurosciences Clinic at The Ottawa Hospital provides outpatient consultation and care for patients with neurological and neurosurgical conditions. 

Patients may be seen for new referrals or follow-up visits.

Services

Many specialty treatments and services are provided in the Neurosciences Clinic, including those focused on:

  • Stroke prevention.
  • Epilepsy.
  • Movement disorders (including Parkinson’s disease).
  • Pituitary disorders.
  • CyberKnife treatment.
  • Migraines.
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS).
  • Neurovascular health. 

Team

The clinic is staffed by a team that includes neurologists, neurosurgeons, registered nurses, registered practical nurses and clerical staff. Nursing staff provide wound care, remove sutures and offer pre- and post-operative counselling on medications, activity and recovery. They also care for patients and families through education and emotional support. 


Referrals

All patients need a referral from a physician.
