Overview
The Adult Cystic Fibrosis Clinic at The Ottawa Hospital provides specialized care for adults living with cystic fibrosis (CF) in Eastern Ontario and West Quebec. The clinic supports patients in managing the complex health needs associated with CF, including lung care, nutrition and related conditions. Care is provided through weekly clinics and ongoing follow-up by a dedicated team. The clinic works closely with other specialists to coordinate treatment and help patients maintain their health and quality of life.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common genetic disease affecting children and young adults in Canada. Respirologist Dr. Shawn Aaron provides an overview of CF, including causes, symptoms, and the remarkable improvements made in life expectancy over the years.
Services
The clinic provides care for adults with CF from Eastern Ontario and West Quebec. Weekly clinics are held on Wednesday afternoons. Patients also receive follow-up care from the nurse coordinator and allied health team. Referrals are made to specialists in gastroenterology, ENT and liver care. There is a dedicated CF-related diabetes clinic at regular intervals.
