Overview
The Division of Surgical Pathology at The Ottawa Hospital provides diagnostic evaluation of solid tissues removed during surgery.
These evaluations help identify disease and guide treatment decisions. The process includes both a gross (macroscopic) examination and a microscopic examination of the tissue.

Consultations
The Division of Surgical Pathology accepts consultation cases for the interpretation of biopsy and other tissue samples related to medical and surgical conditions. All consultations are reviewed and assigned to a pathologist with the appropriate specialty interest and expertise.
