Our values

Patient Care: We will deliver compassionate and patient-centered quality care that meets both the physical and emotional needs of our patients.

Education & Professional Development: We will inspire and direct the training of current and future practitioners providing musculoskeletal care – as future ethical, patient-centered physicians, surgeons and colleagues.  We will play an active role in the promotion of musculoskeletal health and the prevention of injuries in the community.

Research: We will research and establish best evidence-based practices in providing comprehensive treatment of musculoskeletal conditions from childhood through adulthood.

Culture and work environment: We will provide and sustain a positive working environment that encourages respect, teamwork, quality and growth.

Referrals / New Patients:

Patients that want to be seen by a physician from the Division of Orthopedic Surgery must have a referral from a primary care physician or specialist. These referrals can be sent directly to the office of each individual surgeon.

We recognize that access to orthopedic care can be difficult due to extended wait times for some orthopedic subspecialties. We prioritize each consult based on medical urgency.

Regional Hip and Knee Replacement Program:

All referrals for patients who are potential candidates for primary total hip or total knee replacement must be sent to the regional central intake centre (CIC). Referrals sent to surgeons’ offices will be redirected to the CIC and the CIC will ask you to complete a new referral form. This process could take several months, so it would be best for your patient that you complete the approved referral form and fax directly to the CIC. For more information on referring patients to the CIC please visit the Champlain LHIN’s website.
