Joining Calian in December 2023, Michael Tremblay brings with him a wealth of experience from over four decades in communications and information technology. Prior to Calian, Michael contributed significantly as CEO of Invest Ottawa, leading initiatives such as the AREA X.O robot testing site and the Innovation Center at Bayview Yards, focusing on economic development and innovation. His career includes time with multinational corporations like Microsoft, SAP, and Fujitsu Consulting, where he was known for his collaborative leadership style and commitment to fostering environments that encourage innovation and growth.

In 2023, Michael served as a Fellow at the World Economic Forum’s Centre for Urban Transformation, where he engaged in initiatives aimed at sustainable urban development. His academic foundation includes an MBA from Concordia University and a diploma in Computer Technology from Algonquin College. Committed to the principles of good governance, Michael has completed the Directors Education Program and holds ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors, contributing to the Ottawa Chapter Executive.

A firm believer in the power of mentorship and diversity, Michael is dedicated to developing up-and-coming leaders from diverse backgrounds, considering it a vital part of his work. His board roles have included positions with the Institute on Governance, the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, and Algonquin College’s Board of Governors, through which he has aimed to guide and inspire the next generation of leaders. As of December 2023, Michael also brings his leadership and governance experience to The Ottawa Hospital’s Board of Governors.
