The Ottawa Hospital has declared a COVID-19 outbreak\non one of its inpatient units. Because of the importance of this infection, the\ndecision to declare an outbreak was made by TOH in conjunction with Ottawa\nPublic Health, although this outbreak involves only one patient who became\ninfected while in hospital. It is unclear how this patient was infected. The\npatient is now in isolation and no other patients were in contact with this\nindividual. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Staff are being reminded to wear masks as directed\nwhile in clinical areas, to practice scrupulous hand hygiene and physical\ndistancing, and to leave work immediately and be tested if they develop any\nCOVID symptoms. Our no visitor policy continues to be in effect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We continue to monitor patients for symptoms of\nCOVID-19. Any patient who develops symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 while\nin hospital will be isolated and tested.
