Champlain leads the province with 1.2 cases per 1,000 residents.\u00a0 This result translates into fewer admissions every year among residents \u2014 a key indication that prevention strategies appear to be working.<\/p>\n<p>When strokes do occur, Champlain LHIN patients benefit from fast and effective treatment at every step of the care process. The Champlain LHIN\u2019s \u201cdoor-to-needle\u201d time, getting stroke patients their clot-buster drug (tissue plasminogen activator, TPA), is 46 minutes. This time is among the best in Ontario.<\/p>\n<p>The Ottawa Hospital is the regional hub for acute and specialized stroke care in the Champlain LHIN.
