{"id":2583,"date":"2014-06-25T10:12:44","date_gmt":"2014-06-25T14:12:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/52.229.122.34\/en\/?p=2583"},"modified":"2021-02-17T13:41:43","modified_gmt":"2021-02-17T18:41:43","slug":"why-wear-white-on-wednesdays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ottawahospital.on.ca\/en\/uncategorized\/why-wear-white-on-wednesdays\/","title":{"rendered":"Why wear white on Wednesdays?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text-center\"><em>The Ottawa Hospital nurses have begun to \u201cWear White on Wednesdays\u201d to help patients more easily identify them.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Nurses at The Ottawa Hospital have begun to wear either white tops or white uniforms on Wednesdays to demonstrate pride in their profession and distinguish themselves from other professionals.<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re part of a cross-Canada \u201cWear White on Wednesdays\u201d campaign to promote a professional image for nurses and show their understanding of how important it is to patients that nurses are easily identifiable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResearch shows that patients find it difficult to identify nurses just by their name badge,\u201d said Evelyn Kerr, Acting Executive Vice-President of Nursing and Professional Practice.&nbsp; \u201cPatients feel that RNs appear professional and are easily identified by a standard uniform style and colour.
