{"id":1084,"date":"2010-11-30T11:40:52","date_gmt":"2010-11-30T16:40:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/52.229.122.34\/en\/?p=1084"},"modified":"2017-04-03T13:20:15","modified_gmt":"2017-04-03T17:20:15","slug":"when-a-privacy-breach-occurs-at-the-ottawa-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ottawahospital.on.ca\/en\/newsroom\/when-a-privacy-breach-occurs-at-the-ottawa-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"When a privacy breach occurs at The Ottawa Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>November 30, 2010 \u2013<\/strong> Upon learning of a privacy breach, immediate action is taken by the Privacy Office as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Privacy Breach Protocol is implemented immediately<\/li>\n<li>Identify the scope of the potential breach and take steps to contain it<\/li>\n<li>Identify those individuals whose privacy was breached and notify them of the breach, apologizing on behalf of The Ottawa Hospital.<\/li>\n<li>Investigate and remediate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All incidents are dealt with appropriately based on The Ottawa Hospital&#8217;s Privacy Policy and we remain committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality and security of all personal health information we are entrusted with by our patients. Privacy Breaches are handled on a case by case basis .
