During pregnancy<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Abnormal IPS or MSS (high AFP, high hcG , low PAPP-A)<\/li>\n
  2. Abnormal appearance of the placenta on ultrasound (shape, size, echogenicity, abruption, infarct)<\/li>\n
  3. Women with medical problems that are likely to affect placental function: hypertension, kidney problems, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, obesity, vascular disease etc.<\/li>\n
  4. Women with a complex previous obstetrical history: stillbirth, previous delivery of an IUGR, previous pregnancy with severe or early-onset pre-eclampsia (<34 weeks), hypertension or HELLP syndrome<\/li>\n
  5. Women whose previous pregnancy had abnormal placental pathology<\/li>\n
  6. Women with clinical evidence of placental pathology such as abruption, infarcts<\/li>\n
  7. Women with fetuses with suboptimal growth (i.e. less<\/strong> than the 5th centile or with a significant decrease in growth velocity)<\/li>\n
  8. Women with severe oligohydramnios<\/li>\n
  9. Women with suspected umbilical cord abnormalities, including velamentous cord insertion<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Pre-Pregnancy:<\/h2>\n
      \n
    1. Women with a prior history of placental pathology<\/li>\n
    2. Women with medical problems that are likely to affect placental function: hypertension, kidney problems, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, obesity, vascular disease etc..<\/li>\n
    3. Women with previous IUGR, stillbirth, severe and\/or early preeclampsia or HELLP<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Multidisciplinary Approach:<\/h2>\n

      Our team is multidisciplinary and is composed of maternal fetal medicine specialists, fellows in maternal fetal medicine, an advanced practice nurse, perinatal nurses, neonatologists, dietician, social worker, perinatal psychologist, geneticists and a perinatal pathologist. Consultations are also available from a dedicated hematologist and obstetrical internists.<\/p>\n
