Confused by his or her behaviour? Feeling that something isn\u2019t right?<\/p>\n<h2>It\u2019s normal to feel scared and confused<\/h2>\n<p>Families and friends often feel confused, uncertain and frightened when they see someone they know going through unusual changes. It\u2019s also common for family members to have different perspectives on what\u2019s happening. Psychosis can develop very slowly over a few years, or symptoms can appear quite suddenly\u2014making it easier to spot in some cases than in others.<\/p>\n<h2>It\u2019s normal for a person with psychosis to try to hide the problem<\/h2>\n<p>To add to the complication, many people with psychosis won\u2019t let anyone know that they\u2019re having symptoms\u2014either because they\u2019re unable to put into words what they\u2019re experiencing or feeling or because they\u2019re scared that those around them are part of a conspiracy they believe is happening. Sometimes asking the person about the strange behaviour you\u2019ve noticed can help both of you understand better what\u2019s going on.<\/p>\n<h2>It\u2019s important to get help!<\/h2>\n<p>Whatever the situation might be, if someone you care about is experiencing symptoms of psychosis, it\u2019s essential that he or she gets medical care as soon as possible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Something isn\u2019t right Are you worried about your son, daughter or friend?
