In addition to providing clinical care for over 20 years, he has served in many different leadership roles. He proudly served as the head of Ontario\u2019s Anesthesiologists, a section of the Ontario Medical Association. During this tenure, he helped institute the Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes the lifetime contribution of an anesthesiologist to improving healthcare for their community. With Ontario\u2019s Anesthesiologist, he cofounded their altruistic <em>Beyond the Mask<\/em> initiative. Dr. Neilipovitz also served as the Critical Care Department Head for over 10 years and was the Ontario East regional lead for critical care during the COVID pandemic. In his career, he has attempted to address challenges through innovation and novel solutions. He helped create the ACES Resuscitation Course and led the online Family Satisfaction tool, which is now a standard for all Ontario intensive care units. He continues to help physicians and health professionals improve their knowledge and address their challenges with the bimonthly critical care webinar series Ontario Critical Care Clinical Practice Rounds (OC3PR).\u00a0 He is honoured to be leading the Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine department, a team he has been proudly part of for almost 30 years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Dave Neilipovitz is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital.
