The Ottawa Hospital is here to support patients who are undergoing treatment for cancer and wish to explore the option of fertility preservation.<\/p>\n<h2>Overview<\/h2>\n<p>Fertility preservation is an important consideration for many patients with cancer whose treatment may affect their fertility.<\/p>\n<p>Patients wishing to preserve their fertility must often take important steps to do so before their treatment begins.<\/p>\n<h2>Examples of fertility services<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Sperm, egg and embryo freezing<\/li>\n<li>Menstrual suppression<\/li>\n<li>Fertility assessments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Financial assistance<\/h2>\n<p>Most fertility preservation services are covered by OHIP for those who have a valid OHIP card, and can be accessed locally through a collaborative fertility practice in Ottawa.
