They will each cover a week in the EMU, and are the most responsible physicians (MRP) .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>EMU technologists: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>set up patients for epilepsy monitoring\n<ul>\n<li>introduce patients to the physical layout of the EMU<\/li>\n<li>explain electrode application and recording procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>EMU registered nurses: <\/strong>an RN will be on the unit looking after both patients 24\/5.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>provide orientation to the EMU<\/li>\n<li>review safety guidelines and roles of the team members<\/li>\n<li>check environment safety as per organizational policy \u2013 i.e., all equipment, including oxygen and suction is functioning and available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Epilepsy clinic nurse: <\/strong>Sabrina Chang<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>triage referrals and schedule each patient\u2019s admissions<\/li>\n<li>prepare patients and answer related questions before an admissions:\n<ul>\n<li>introduce the EMU<\/li>\n<li>gather information for the pre-admission emails<\/li>\n<li>generate offer letters and EMU documents<\/li>\n<li>confirm admissions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>rescheduling patients if there is a cancellation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Pharmacist, other health-care professionals and support staff<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EMU neurologists: Dr. Rajendra Kale, Dr. Tad Fantaneanu, or Dr. Arezoo Rezazadeh Provide leadership to the team of health professionals and ensure day-to-day functioning of the EMU according to provincial guidelines.
