Staff\nhave over 30 years of expertise as community leaders and educators in\nrehabilitation services. The care team is\ncomprised of Physiotherapists and Physiotherapist Assistants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For adult patients with active rehabilitation\ngoals, our specialized services include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Pain management<\/li><li>Complex traumatic injury\nrehabilitation, including burns<\/li><li>Chronic Respiratory Disease\nmanagement program<\/li><li>Rehabilitation post- acquired\nor traumatic brain injury<\/li><li>Neurological rehabilitation <\/li><li>Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis\n(ALS) clinic <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>What is <strong>not<\/strong> covered by our OHIP-funded\nprogram:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>non-complex acute injuries\n(&lt;6 weeks since injury)<\/li><li>maintenance programs<\/li><li>post-surgical total joint\nreplacement therapy<\/li><li>elective surgery rehabilitation\ntherapy<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How do\nI get a referral?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All referrals to publicly-funded outpatient\nphysiotherapy must be provided by a physiatrist (doctor\nwho specializes in rehabilitation medicine)\nor nurse practitioner with admitting privileges at TOHRC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information about referrals can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ottawahospital.on.ca\/en\/clinical-services\/deptpgrmcs\/departments\/rehabilitation-centre\/the-referral-process\/\">in Rehabilitation Centre web page.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre Outpatient Physiotherapy (505 Smyth Road) Rehabilitation Centre physiotherapists specialize in the management of acute and chronic conditions.
