{"id":13457,"date":"2016-12-05T16:30:43","date_gmt":"2016-12-05T21:30:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/52.229.122.34\/en\/?page_id=13457"},"modified":"2016-12-05T16:30:43","modified_gmt":"2016-12-05T21:30:43","slug":"education","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ottawahospital.on.ca\/en\/clinical-services\/deptpgrmcs\/programs\/organ-and-tissue-donation-program\/education\/","title":{"rendered":"Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Hospital Educational Programs<\/h2>\n<p>Donor Coordinators at each campus will provide standardized required educational sessions to the following personnel (but not limited to):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All new nursing staff, as part of their hospital orientation;\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13458 alignright img-responsive\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/surgeryedu.jpg\" alt=\"surgeryedu\" width=\"200\" height=\"151\" \/><\/li>\n<li>All Intensive Care Unit residents and nursing staff;<\/li>\n<li>All Emergency Department resident and nursing staff;<\/li>\n<li>All operating room staff, on an annual basis;<\/li>\n<li>Specific units or staff as requested or deemed necessary;<\/li>\n<li>Other hospital employees, during National Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness Week (NOTDAW);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>\nOutreach Educational Programs<\/h2>\n<p>The staff of The Ottawa Hospital Organ and Tissue Donation Program will develop and deliver a standardized educational program to community hospitals. All community hospitals within the Ottawa-Carleton Region will be offered the services of a specific donor coordinator, to serve in a liaison, education and resource role thereby facilitating continuity.
