We provide primary care for teenagers, children, the elderly, pregnant mothers, babies, and the general population.<\/p>\n<p>Our team is composed of a variety of professionals, including:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"float: left; width: 50%;\">\n<li>Doctors<\/li>\n<li>Nurses<\/li>\n<li>Nurse Practitioners<\/li>\n<li>Physician Assistants<\/li>\n<li>Social Workers<\/li>\n<li>Dietitians<\/li>\n<li>Pharmacists<\/li>\n<li>Administrative Staff<\/li>\n<li>Psychologists<\/li>\n<li>Psychiatrists<\/li>\n<li>And more!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12295 aligncenter img-responsive\" style=\"float: left; width: 50%; margin-top: 50px;\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Misc-WhiteStethoscope.jpg\" alt=\"misc-whitestethoscope\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our clinic provides a complete range of health-care services, including nutrition advice, drug information, counselling sessions, and mental health services, all designed to assist our patients in attaining and maintaining optimal health.<\/p>\n<hr style=\"border-color: black;\" \/>\n<h2>We Are a Teaching Hospital!<\/h2>\n<p>Our team is called the Ottawa Hospital Academic Family Health Team. \u201cAcademic\u201d means that we are a teaching hospital. This means we are partnered with the University of Ottawa to train medical students, residents, and other health-care professionals to the highest standard.<\/p>\n<p>Because we are a teaching clinic, sometimes you may be seen by a resident. Residents are doctors who have finished their medical degree and are completing hands on post-graduate training. Residents who see patients are directly supervised by the clinic\u2019s family doctors.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, please visit <a title=\"Our Teaching Environment\" href=\"\/en\/clinical-services\/deptpgrmcs\/programs\/family-health-team\/about-us\/our-teaching-environment\/\">Our Teaching Environment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Are You Currently a Patient?<\/h2>\n<p>Here is some important information you need to know:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our team uses <strong>Electronic Health Records <\/strong>so your health information is easy to access when you need to be seen by other health-care providers within our clinic.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enrollment: <\/strong>Our clinic is registered as an Ontario Family Health Organization (FHO), so we ask that our Ontario patients \u201croster\u201d with us. This involves signing a form, and just means that you are identifying the doctors at our clinic as being your main health-care providers. This does not put your under any obligation, and is free of charge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Medical Notes:<\/b>\u00a0Some of our physicians use\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/www.ottawahospital.on.ca\/en\/toh-and-microsoft-nuance-dax-copilot-toh-faqs\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ottawahospital.on.ca\/en\/toh-and-microsoft-nuance-dax-copilot-toh-faqs\/\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"1\"><b>DAX Copilot<\/b><\/a>\u00a0software to securely records clinician-patient conversations during in-person appointments. Using artificial intelligence, the conversation is converted into medical notes.
