Based on the recommendation of the Chief Medical Officer of Health of Ontario, the following immunocompromised population groups are eligible for an extension of the primary COVID-19 vaccine series:

  • Transplant recipients.
  • Individuals receiving treatment with an anti-CD20 agent.
  • Individuals receiving active treatment (chemotherapy, targeted therapies, immunotherapy) for malignant hematologic (blood) disorders.

Those who are eligible will receive a letter confirming their eligibility, with more details on how to book an appointment.

For more information about the vaccine centres available in your area, please consult your local public health unit:

It is advised that those eligible receive a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least eight (8) weeks after their second dose as recommended by provincial public health guidelines.
