Calling all nursing graduates!
Nursing education is about much more than classroom learning. To prepare for practice, today’s nursing students gain knowledge and skills in research, advocacy, and leadership as well as participate in a wide range of unpaid clinical placements. The Ottawa Hospital is one of the largest academic health sciences centres in Canada and places nursing students from many local and out-of-region schools.
Through The Ottawa Hospital’s Nursing Professional Practice Department, opportunities are available for internal part-time and full-time registered nurses to participate in a temporary paid training position for up to 12 weeks. The objective is to provide an opportunity to consolidate new nursing knowledge in a unit they may be interested in, but do not necessarily have the qualifications. This 12-week training program allows internal registered nurses to gain the necessary skills to become qualified for future opportunities on select units.
