Note: More information about each surgeon can be found in the Staff Profiles List. Note that this list includes all members of the The Ottawa Hospital’s Department of Ophthalmology – Eye Care Centre (Riverside Campus) and Eye Institute (General Campus), not just the cataract surgeons.

In discussions with your doctor, you can use this information to make more informed choices about where to receive treatment.

Making an Appointment

Please remember that a referral from an optometrist or family physician is required for a consult with a cataract surgeon.

Your surgeon will determine how urgent your case is after consultation. Not every patient waits the same length of time and more urgent cases are given a higher priority so do not wait as long as less urgent cases.
