Overview

The Ottawa Hospital patient and family libraries provide patients and their families with onsite access to reliable information on a variety of health, wellness and medical topics. Our collection has over 2000 books, audiotapes and DVDs.

 

Our Services

Services for patients and families include:

  1. Books or Media Loans: books, videos and DVDs for loan (you can borrow items from our libraries for three weeks, or  21 days, and renew for a further three weeks if the material has not been reserved)
  2. Internet Access: computers with high-speed Internet connections (you can use our computers to search for medical information on the internet or to send emails)
  3. Information and Reference Service (you can ask library staff to help you find up-to-date and reliable information on specific diseases or conditions, medical or surgical tests and procedures (i.e. ultrasound, biopsy), local support groups, and much more)
