Student Volunteer Programs


Student VolunteerEligibility

To participate in the Student Program you must be

  • between 14 and 17 years old, and
  • attending high school.

Student volunteers bring

  • energy,
  • talent,
  • creativity,
  • dedication,
  • enthusiasm, and a
  • valuable contribution of volunteer service.

If you would like to

  • participate in a variety of volunteer activities at The Ottawa Hospital,
  • develop new skills within a health care setting,
  • increase personal growth and build self confidence,
  • develop work ethics, communication and team work skills, and
  • interact and learn with peers,

.....then volunteering in one of our student programs could be for you!


Regular Program

  • One shift per week, evenings or weekends, during the school year
  • minimum 50 hours of service

Summer Program

  • July to August
  • minimum 2 shifts per week

Co-operative Education Program

  • Operated in conjunction with high school cooperative education programs
  • One semester during the academic year
  • Mornings or afternoons, Monday to Friday
  • Please see your cooperative education teacher for more details about this program.
